I think awesome could be replaced with poop in pretty much all birds. I think that somehow the avian digestive tract is hooked up through some quantum process to the black holes of the universe so extra matter somehow always appears. Toucans must be somehow closer to the void. A grape can go in and ten grapes will come out in about 30 seconds. Horrible, horrible magic!

Owls are amazing.

Storytime! I was on a Christmas count for the Audubon society one year. My professor friend and I started early (like 3am) and went up to the foothills to get owls for our count. It was dark so of course we couldn't see them (you can get a count from distinct calls). We played some of the smaller owl's calls first, in hopes that they would answer before we had to play the great horned owl calls...

The first call we hear back was a Great Horned! LOL He wanted to eat anyone else smaller than him...
